Visible Light Transmission
Window tint darkness is measured by Visible Light Transmission percentage (VLT%).
This refers to the percent of visible light allowed in through both the film and the glass.
The lower the number, the darker the tint shade is. So, 5% is darker than 35%, which is darker than 70%
In NYS 70% is the legal tint for side windows.
